From today:



ballpoint over 3H pencil sketch on cardstock

This is to be coloured with watercolours.
I can still fit something/someone else on that roof.. Uhh..

as an art geek now, how about making this the beginning of a series of sexy nudes, examining how a woman while nude, could still be BADASS and evoke a sense of agreessive power??

True, yet knives and swords have a masculinizing effect on a female. A gun is a symbol of male procreation. A sword has an alternate effect, it literally turns the tables. A woman with a blade can pierce a man.

Even in this piece, all the elements and even Rikki herself are very masculine and strong, despite being an expression of femininity. Her body literally lies on a bed of strength.

Give me a few hours and I can write you a paper about this drawing, analysing it, and all the symbolism.

I will stop geeking now.

as for the shell casings, http://www.slashfilm.com/wp/wp-content/images/americanbeautybig1.jpg just a few above her navel and scattered around the roof in said fashion would be my suggestion.

This will

A. Provide a reference to a very female pose that is iconic as feminine

B. Still retain the masculine edge, yet redefine it!

Maybe you could litter some of the clothes she was probably wearing BEFORE she climbed up there on the roof? Like have her bra/top dangling off the side?

I am in support of this idea. The picture seems to be shaping up well, and while I don't have much to say on it, I think it'll be great.
